Where am I going?
The goals I have decided to work towards are improving my computer skills by taking classes that are related to it, such as computer programming, computer science and math. These are related to a career in programming, which is something I see myself doing for a living. I will also work on my music skills as I would also like to produce music, even if it's only as a hobby (or even a side job). This course has made me think about what I plan to do when as i grow older and to be prepared. It has made me think about financing, my possible future careers, and what to expect along the way and when I eventually get there.
How am I getting there?
Some progress i have already made towards the goals I have set is by choosing my classes for next year and taking civics and careers this summer. The electives I have chosen for grade 10 that work towards my goals are Computer Technology – TEJ2O1, Computer Studies and Coding – ICD2O1, and Music (Instrumental) - AMU2O1. Some ways I am actively working towards these goals are by creating websites (like this one!) and by playing my piano, as they both feed into my goals.
Where to next?
Some activities that need to be done to make better progress are to start next year's classes in school, as they will test my current knowledge and build upon it significantly. Some pathways I can take in the future could be participating in hackathons, joining the school's band, or checking to see if there are some computer related extracurricular activities. The biggest thing is to remember to continue to practice my skills at home and most of all make sure I enjoy doing it.
